New Topics?

Definitely if I had to choose a new topic for this class it would be to set up a class experiment a la "Wisdom of the Crowds". How fun would it be if we all randomly looked up at the ceiling in a mall or stuck a dollar coin to the floor and saw how many people tried to pick it up. Probably wouldn't be entirely possible but I think that would be awesome to do a random class field trip. Also I was really sad the speaker couldn't come in, i was looking forward to that.

Doing a class experiment such as this would be a great project to do. There are so many possibilities regarding the exact design of a project such as this and I also think that human behavior is a very interesting topic. It was interesting reading about some of these experiments in The Wisdome of Crowds but it would be much more interesting doing an experiment firsthand.

I think it would be interesting to do a Wisdom of the Crowds project as a whole class. This way more people would be more inclined to do something like stare at the ceiling if everyone else was doing it. Great idea!

I agree that a class experiment would be fun!! There is a video on YouTube of a group of improv actors who went to Grand Central Station and all synced their watches and froze at the exact same moment for 5 full minutes. Something like that would be fun and extremely interesting to implement!!

I agree with dave i think that it would be cool to do a wisdom of crowds project with the whole class. It also would make it easier to do something stupid with the whole class rather than just yourself.

Too bad there was not more time to get something like this done. I know at many points this semester I felt very rushed due to all my classes. It would have been fun to explore some of the interesting ideas presented in class further
